http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/ Ofsted's Role
The Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted) was set up 1 September 1992 with the aim of improving the quality and standards of education and childcare, in England, through independent inspection and regulation.

As well as being responsible for school inspections, under the Care Standards Act 2000, Ofsted assumed responsibility for the regulation and registration of all early years childcare and education and since September 2001 this has added the task of inspecting some 100,000 childminders, and 40,000 day-care establishments to their inspection programmes.

The website is easy to navigate and there is a facility to search for schools' Ofsted reports.
