Volunteer Work
Community Service Volunteers (CSV)
Volunteering is at the heart of CSV's activities and last year over 100,000 people volunteered through us. There are volunteer opportunities for everyone. Education for Citizenship CSV promotes and supports active citizenship in schools, colleges and universities. Each year we enable 45,000 young people to learn and develop in and beyond the classroom by participating in activities that enrich local communities through the arts, sciences and sport. Social Action Media Services CSV Media has two core activities: social action media services & training. We work with local media (radio, television, community newspapers, BBC2 Ceefax) to inspire people to get involved in their local community and to keep them informed about issues including health, education, environment and where they can go for help. Health Services There are a huge number of CSV volunteers actively involved in supporting health on a number of initiatives for young people and older people. CSV believes that voluntary effort can make a huge difference to the quality of service provided by the NHS in a variety of areas.
