http://www.workstress.net/index.htm Stress at Work

The United Kingdom National Stress Network
The site is intended to help raise the profile of work-related stress, its causes and how we can move towards eliminating it. Their objective is to work with trade unions, employers, professional organisations, politicians and individuals who share our aims. We want a shift in the culture that leads to unnecessary workplace stress which is invariably destructive, demeaning, undignified and, in some cases, fatal.

The organisation evolved because of the involvement of its members in the European and British Hazards Movements. We want to improve the current legislation on health, safety and employment rights in the UK and Europe, thereby removing workplace insecurity and many of the causes of stress. By working together we can also change the culture of the work environment. This can be done and has been widely accomplished in countries like Holland, Sweden and Denmark.

The people involved in the site and network, including those who produced this site, do not claim to be experts. We have a keen and practical interest in the health, safety and welfare of the working population. Many of us have experienced, or had to deal with, the consequences of work-related stress over a number of years. This site complements the other activities of the network, including quarterly newsletters, regular Conferences on stress, and working with organisations with similar aims, including the Campaign Against Bullying at Work.
