Suitability   Any Service family needing short term housing between postings, on leaving, for welfare purposes, home leave or for just a short break in the country.
 
Centre Activities   Tavern bar, games hall with large screen TV. Amenity centre with launderette, HIVE and library. Extensive children's playgrounds. Free toy library and thrift shop. First aid centre. Nursery school (from Sep 04). The Lypiatt Primary School for children aged 4-11. 12-16 year olds may attend Corsham Secondary School which is close by. Caring environment with professional experienced staff to help with and advise on housing, benefits and legal problems. Between postings; help with travel, welfare and move of unaccompanied baggage. Storage and onward move of baggage at public expense. Nursing sister available every working day. Outings, activities, events run by the Community Organiser.

  National Trust village of Laycock nearby plus the towns of Bath and Chippenham.
 
Accommodation   Single storey, centrally heated 3/4 bedroom chalets.Self catering, fully furnished with cooking utensils, fridge, freezer, cutlery, crockery, bedding and towels.Colour TVs can be hired for a small fee.

New adapted accommodation for injured personnel now open at the Centre. Two beautiful new purpose built, fully adapted houses for use by injured Service personnel and their families are now open at the Centre. Those injured personnel referred to the Centre by the medical or welfare services stay free of charge. Contact Centre for details.
 
Cost   The daily charge is only £7-00 per family; R&R families pay £10. The rent includes heating, lighting and the laundering of bed linen.
