Situation   Flowerdown House provides respite and convalescent breaks for individuals and couples with care available as and when required. Dating back to the late Victorian era, it is ideally situated on the sea front with uninterrupted views across the Bristol Channel and close to local amenities an beauty spots such as Wells Cathedral and Cheddar Gorge. Guests are guaranteed a memorable visit and the opportunity of making new friends.
 
Suitability   The House can accommodate up to 38 people.
The House has:
  • Single and twin rooms all with en-suite facilities, tea and coffee making provisions and radio.
  • Varied and appetising home cooked food prepared by our own chef.
  • Facilities to cater for special diets.
  • Optional programme of outings in a comfortable, adapted minibus.
  • Lounges with TV, video and music.
  • Attractive Bar with views across the Bay.
  • Entertainment in the House and aromatherapy and beauty treatments available.
Local Activities/
Attractions 		  Short walking distance into Weston-Super -Mare, easy access to beach, plus short driving distance to a variety of Somerset tourist attractions including the cathedral city of Wells, Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole.
 
Extra Help   For those who need some extra help there are specially adapted rooms with level access showers. A care call system is fitted in all rooms and personal care is available for those who need it and guests can borrow electric scooters if required.
 
Eligibility   The house is open to serving and ex-serving members of the Royal Air Force and their dependants. Applications from the Royal Navy and Army may sometimes considered, subject to room availability at the time of booking.
 
Cost   Contributions towards the cost of a care break will depend on individual means and should be discussed with a RAFA Welfare Officer.
