Support Groups and Veterans
Overview
Within the Royal Air Force there are many organizations to assist regular, auxiliary and reserve Servicemen and their families. These Community Support personnel on unit usually come under the auspices of Office Commanding Personnel Service Squadron, which include the Officer Commanding Personnel Service Squadron, Chief Clerk and his staff. They also include the Community Support Workers and HIVE assistance.
To assist with Veteran affairs, the RAF Benevolent Fund, RAF Association and SSAFA also play an important role. However, the civilian community has a rich source of help, and these agencies should be contacted where necessary. This part of the Web Site, we have put together the major groups, Service and Civilian and their functions. There are many links within in this site to outside agencies Web Sites that the Royal Air Force may not agree with their policies or doctrines, however they are included for personnel to view. If you have any suggestions for links or subjects on any pages within the Web Site please contact the Webmaster. You thoughts or suggestions may assist others in obtaining the information they require quickly and easily. Launch of Forces Prayerline On 6 November 2008 a new support service for Service personnel and their families, the Forces Prayerline was officially launched in the UK.
